The core and foundation of our church is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! All of our worship, practices and love are rooted in Him. We want to glorify Him with our living and being in all that we are, and all that we do.

We are created for relationship with God, and with each other. It is God’s grace, freely offered to us, that gives us that relationship with Him—there is nothing we can ever do to earn it or deserve it. To accept this gift, we must believe in the life, death and redemptive work of Jesus on the cross, and live by faith in His grace and mercy for us. Out of our gratitude and love, we want to obey Him and live as Jesus taught us to live.

We practice two sacraments that demonstrate our faith:

• Believer’s Baptism by immersion, because a public declaration of our faith gives us strength and confidence to go forth as believers.
• The Lord’s Supper, celebrated to remind us of Jesus’ sacrifice for us and to affirm our commitment to live as His disciples.

David Walker

PASTOR

Pastor David began pastoring our church in March 2020 — just before we had to change our Sunday format from meeting in the sanctuary to holding drive-in services. But, David was heard to say "I'm excited about God showing us new and creative ways to continue our worship and ministry!"

David, his wife Jean, and their four children (Maggie 19, Ben 17, Holly 10, and Lily 10) moved to Westminster from Charleston. WBC has welcomed them as warmly as possible during the COVID-19 environment, and we long to get to know them better as soon as possible.

David Chambers

FAMILY MINISTRY PASTOR

At the age of 16, David Chambers felt the call of God on his life to serve Him in vocational gospel ministry. Since his calling, David has served in various capacities within the local church since graduating high school, but no matter where he is, his desire has been, “to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Cor. 2:2). As an ordained minister of the gospel, David has worked over 9 years serving the church within children and youth ministry along with 5 years of volunteering in the same field of ministry. The gospel message is at the forefront of David’s ministry. He is passionate about discipling the Next Generation in the love of Christ as he assists families in their calling to be disciple makers. David believes this is done in the context of growing relationships.

David graduated from Campbell University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art and Graphics Design. In 2021, David earned his Master of Arts in Christian Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

David is married to Melanie, and they have been married for six wonderful years. They have a two-year-old daughter named Ahnna. He enjoys a good cup of coffee, time with family and friends, and watching the latest superhero film or cooking show.
